Just shared success.For You – Whether it's our customers or our teammates, we lead with empathy and put people at the centre of everything we do.This role can be performed remotely from anywhere in Australia or on a hybrid basis from our Brisbane HQ.The RoleAs Head of Finance, you'll partner closely with our CFO to lead and strengthen the finance function across the Group.
You'll oversee a lean but capable team of two permanent staff and four external contractors, drive process improvements, and ensure our finance function is resilient and scalable as the business grows.
You'll also support future M&A activity and act as a trusted advisor in shaping financial strategy.What You'll DoPartner with the CFO to deliver strategic finance initiatives and lift team capabilityLead and mentor the finance team, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, and smooth operationsClose out due diligence findings and embed compliance frameworksStrengthen cost control and reporting cadence to deliver timely insights for decision-makingEnsure robust revenue recognition practices (AASB 15) and standardised billing across the GroupOwn month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and timelinessManage relationships with auditors, tax advisers, and banking partnersChampion continuous improvement across finance processes, systems, and reportingAbout YouCA/CPA qualified with 7+ years' post-qualified experienceStrong technical grounding (revenue recognition, compliance, audit, tax) combined with commercial acumenProven track record in finance process improvement and transformationSaaS, technology, or PE-backed business experience preferredExcellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to guide a high-performing teamStrong systems capability (Xero, HubSpot, BI/reporting tools desirable)What We OfferPermanent role with remote flexibility or hybrid working from BrisbaneDirect reporting line to the CFO and exposure to Group leadershipOpportunity to step into broader leadership responsibility over timeA collaborative, values-driven culture where Can Do, As One, and For You aren't just words; they're how we work every dayA supportive workplace where learning, growth, and wellbeing are a priorityThe chance to directly contribute to our vision of being the heartbeat of Residential and Commercial agency growth, efficiency, and complianceReady to take the lead and shape the future of finance at Rex Group?
