About the role
The primary purpose of the MC Driver is to safely and efficiently operate MC trucks and other heavy equipment such as vehicle mounted cranes/forklifts as used by Qube Energy as part of its operations.
NOTE: THIS IS A RESIDENTIAL POSITION. FIFO APPLICANTS NEED NOT APPLY.
Hourly rate:
$50.00 p/h
Allowances:
$550 per week Remote area reimbursement, yearly flight reimbursement, penalties
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Efficient operation of vehicles
Conduct pre and post start vehicle checks
Report any defects in a timely manner
Complete all necessary associated documentation (such as the preparation and signing of cartage dockets and service requests)
Follow appropriate company procedures
Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of deficiencies in the delivery of product
Undertake supervision work when directed
Take good care of vehicles/plant under your care
Compliance with all Main Roads heavy vehicle operating guide lines
Compliance with fatigue management
Compliance with loading requirements, axle weights, adhering to vehicle specific permits
Compliance within the NHVL guidelines for Standard, Basic and Advanced Fatigue Management
Compliance with Chain of Responsibility requirements
Management of loads including weight requirements, dangerous goods compliance and load restraint
Professional conduct both at Qube, vendors and customer managed facilities
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience operating a Side Loader trailer
Heavy Combination (HC) Driver licence
High Risk Forklift ticket - Highly regarded
Basic/Intermediate Rigging ticket – Highly desirable
Appropriate licence class for any other vehicles operated
Experience in water and vacuum tankers
Experience in driving heavy vehicles and other machinery as used by Qube Energy
Knowledge and understanding of applicable Commonwealth/State Safety and Environmental legislation and standards, Main Road Heavy vehicle legislation and permitting standards
Ability to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolution
Ability to work well within a team environment
