Canberra, ACT, Australia Elliott Gray Full time

Working from home flexibility
- Handsome remuneration
- Flat organisational culture

Elliott Gray is joining forces with another well known and respected commercial business in Canberra. This time, we are working alongside one of the best advisory and assessment management businesses to assist in their search for their new Payroll and Accounts Manager.

This position has only become available due to the previous manager retiring after an impressive tenure with the organisation, highlighting longevity within this organisation.

In this role, you will work closely with the finance team, departmental managers, and senior management to ensure the financial health and growth of the business.

You will be responsible for managing the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for different portfolios, preparing and reviewing financial statements and reports, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions and reconciliations.

As the Accounts and Payroll Manager, you will also oversee compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations for insurance policy payments, develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry best practices and standards, and provide regular reports on financial performance to senior management.

What do you need to be considered?

A finance related degree would be extremely handy but we are looking for someone with commercial experience spanning around 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping and payroll roles.

Additionally, you should have experience with accounting software and payroll systems. You should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage a heck of a spreadsheet. Working in a collaborative accounting team of 3, strong communication and interpersonal skills are paramount as you will need to work collaboratively with all areas of the business.
