Looking to get your foot in the door of your local council? Love being outdoors in the garden?

Maxima, in partnership with their host employer, are looking for an outdoor enthusiast to undertake a 3-year traineeship within Horticulture.

This opportunity will see you working within the western suburbs at one of Adelaide's up and coming council areas working fulltime to achieve a nationally recognised **Certificate III in Horticulture**. Receive hands-on industry experience, paid training, relevant licences, and all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to kickstart your gardening career.

**Duties Include**:

- Garden and grounds maintenance
- Mulch, prune, pot, and water plants
- Tree removal
- Use of woodchippers and other garden machinery and tools
- Brush cutting and mowing
- Pest and weed control
- Install and maintain irrigation pipes and watering systems

**S**kills and Knowledge**:

- Enjoy working outdoors and with garden tools
- Be committed, reliable and hardworking
- Manage and prioritise time when working under pressure
- Work effectively in a team and unsupervised
- Good communication skills
- Have a can-do attitude, displaying initiative on the job

**Role Requirements**:

- Provisional or full driver's licence with own vehicle
- Physically fit and healthy due to manual labour work
- Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment including a drug and alcohol test
- Previous experience in gardening, horticulture, or similar trade (advantageous)
