
Procurement Specialist 11 Month Contract State Gov

This role will work within the Portfolio's Procurement Transformation Program to review current practices, identify and develop sustainable improvement solutions and guide implementation and adoption across the department procurement ecosystem.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Provide high quality and expert advice to stakeholders in a relevant, timely and accurate manner on matters relating to the transformation and optimisation of procurement operations of the department.
- Contribute specialist knowledge and leadership to the development of project plans, and related artifacts, to ensure effective project delivery and sustainable outcomes.
- Transfer specialist knowledge and upskill departmental employees, in accordance with program scope and objectives.
- Establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with stakeholders across different teams, branchs and the broader Department and other Queensland Government partners.
- Lead the research, analysis and preparation of submissions, reports, briefing materials and correspondence, to senior management and executive stakeholders, on matters relating to the program.
- Contribute to a high level of professional practice in the business by maintaining expert knowledge of contemporary procurement strategies, policies and practices and an awareness of Government priorities and initiatives that have implications for the procurement function.
- Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
- Contribute to the achievement of an equitable, ethical and safe working environment for staff, which has an emphasis on commitment, skills development, professional growth and continuous improvement.
**Essential Requirements**:
- Demonstrated experience conceptualising, strategising and leading the delivery of procurement transformation and process improvement activities in complex public or private sector environments.
- Demonstrated operational experience at a senior level, in the end-to-end procurement value chain, including a thorough understanding of procurement commercial principles, commercial models and experience in complex contract negotiation.
- Undertakes objective, systematic analysis and draws accurate conclusions based on evidence.
- Advanced communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, including demonstrated ability to advise and influence executive stakeholders on complex procurement issues, and work collaboratively as an effective team member.
- Constructs and delivers against project plans that have clear and appropriate objectives and timeframes, whilst managing competing priorities.
- Takes personal responsibility for meeting objectives and progressing work. Shows initiative and proactively steps in and does what is required.
**Other Requirements**:
- While not mandatory, a relevant qualification in supply chain, procurement, or a related field, would be well regarded.
- Experience in procurement relevant to a health care setting will be well regarded.
- Ability to travel to other facilities across the state.
