As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12-months allocation as WCHN Fellow Paediatric Emergency - POCUS (Point of Care Ultrasound Special Skills) will be determined in line with your training and SA Health's requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.

**The Opportunity**

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified **Medical Practitioner** to join us in** Paediatric Medicine**as the** Fellow Paediatric Emergency - POCUS (Point of Care Ultrasound Special Skills).**

The Paediatric Emergency Fellow, POCUS (Point-of-Care Ultrasound Special Skills) position at WCH provides a distinct opportunity for an ACEM/RACP PEM Trainee to gain credentialling and expertise in Paediatric Emergency ultrasound, encompassing both technical proficiency and administrative acumen.

This is a 6-month rotational position, and The Fellow will share their time between Clinical responsibilities (0.5FTE) and ultrasound shifts/responsibilities (0.5FTE).

A prerequisite is that the applicant is successfully appointed to the PED Fellow role for a minimum of 12 months. The successful applicant will generally work as a Fellow for 6-months and then as the POCUS Special Skills Fellow for 6- months.

Specifically, the Fellow will complete the following:

- Scanning sessions in the Paediatric Emergency Department (PED)
- Participating in Quality Assurance (QA) sessions
- Teaching junior doctors at the bedside and in workshops
- Attending a PICU echo course and performing cardiac scans in PICU
- Conducting an audit or research project on paediatric ultrasound
- Scanning sessions with sonographers and echocardiographers
