Brief Description
ASM Fresh is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all fresh foods departments.
The Long Life/Fresh Food Manager reports to the Store Manager.
This role is classified as Level 6 in the GRA.
In the absence of the Store Manager, the Long Life and/or Fresh Food Manager acts as Stand-In and reports to the Operations Manager.
The Long Life/Fresh Food Manager is responsible for the whole store team in the Store Manager's absence.
If there is a disagreement between the Long Life/Fresh Food Manager and the Store Manager regarding a problem or disciplinary procedure, the Operations Manager will make the final decision.
Objectives
Maximise sales by ensuring optimal availability of good quality, well-merchandised products in a clean, safe environment, served promptly and courteously.
Develop, lead, and motivate a capable team of store staff by following and executing store routines and processes.
Minimise costs through tight inventory control, quality of contractor's work, staff turnover reduction, and productivity maximisation.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Use initiative to manage and improve work quality in areas of responsibility.
Be a constructive team member within the store.
Requirements and Responsibilities
Manage store resources effectively, monitor staff training, development, and performance, ensuring store routines and processes are correctly followed.
Control employee leave and absenteeism, and be aware of WH&S requirements.
Encourage, train, motivate, and develop staff to reach their full potential.
Ensure all Routine Cards are followed by the Store Team.
Assist with induction and ongoing training of employees.
Report incidents, damages, operational issues, or suggestions to the Store Manager.
Hold a master key and be available for emergency callouts.
Estimate sales monthly and schedule staff hours accordingly, adjusting as needed.
Ensure stock quality and proper rotation, minimise stock losses due to damages, overordering, or theft.
Maintain merchandising standards across all departments, ensuring they are full, ticketed, and clean.
Conduct accurate stocktakes and updates, ensuring proper receipt and invoicing of stock.
Communicate essential information to Department Champions/Duty Managers.
Ensure equipment is maintained and operational.
Keep the store clean, hygienic, and pest-free.
Follow all controls, policies, and procedures, including WH&S, Employee Handbook, Food Safety, and legal requirements.
Adhere to legislative and internal responsibilities, maintaining proper records and training staff accordingly.
Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the Store Manager.
