Cyber Security Analyst

Location : BrisbaneRemuneration / Benefit : NegotiableAbout the Role : We're seeking an experienced Cyber Security Analyst to oversee the implementation and maintenance of identity and data management frameworks, ensuring Aurizon's cyber security risk and compliance objectives are achieved and control maturity aligns with the enterprise strategy.
This role is suitable for someone with relevant theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
Operating within a growing cyber team, you will collaborate with other analysts and specialists, providing opportunities for growth across identity, data, GRC, and platform services.Primary Activities :Assess current data security measures, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend improvements.Take ownership of security strategies and protocols; plan and execute projects related to the identity and data security roadmap.Consult on technology choices, architectural design, configurations, and management processes.Document IDM procedures and business rules.Coordinate with Technology teams, including Infrastructure and Application Development, to maintain IDM infrastructure and connectors.Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.Monitor, analyze, and investigate security incidents.Support training on data security protocols and procedures.Develop reports and documentation on data security issues.Stay informed about the latest cyber threats and security tools.About You :Tertiary degree in IT, Software Engineering, Networking, or related field (mandatory).
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate.Understanding of IT infrastructure, server OS (Windows and Unix), relational databases, Active Directory, LDAP, messaging systems, and data security tools like MS Purview.Hands-on experience with major identity management solutions like Forefront IDM or Novell/NetIQ Identity Manager.Proficiency with security monitoring tools such as SIEM software (e.g., Defender, Splunk).
