Part time (3 or 4 days a week), temporary role for the remainder of the school year.
- Work during term time only.

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced School Counsellor to join our Pastoral care team for the remainder of the school year. In this role, you will work closely with students to ensure their emotional, social and wellbeing needs are being met. You will provide support to teaching staff as well as families on how to best support these students.

**In this role, you will**:

- Provide support and professional advice to students in the areas of wellbeing and mental health
- Support teachers and families by providing them an understanding of student mental health concerns and strategies to assist these students' in their overall development
- Assess and refer students to specialist agencies for clinical, therapeutic, medical diagnosis and treatment.

**About you**:

- You have recognised qualifications in Counselling, Psychology or Social Work
- You have experience in working with children and/or adolescents and their families to address various mental health, developmental and learning concerns.
- Ability to implement evidence based intervention strategies
- Ability to triage based on need and urgency
- You possess a high level of interpersonal and communication skills and able to liaise with a range of stakeholders
- Excellent organisation, time management and record keeping skills
- You're interested in helping meet the educational and wellbeing needs of young men
- You have an understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice
- You are willing to support the Catholic ethos of the School

Evidence of a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance will be required prior to employment. Applications will only be considered from applicants who have the right to work in Australia.
