**About this role**
The Purchasing Officer is responsible for coordinating and performing activities involved with purchasing a diverse range of goods for all stakeholders at St Andrew's Hospital. This is a fast-paced role and one that is vitally important in the accurate management of backorders and sourcing of alternatives, to ensure adequate supply for ongoing hospital operations. The Purchasing Officer is an integral position within the Supply Department team, ensuring that goods are purchased in an efficient, compliant and timely manner.

**Hours**
This is a full-time position working across Monday to Friday, 76 hours per fortnight.

**About you**

In addition, you will need to demonstrate:

- well-developed organisation and prioritisation skills
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- experience in a fast-paced environment
- the ability to work closely with other team members and to maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external
- excellent time management skills, flexibility, and an ability to work independently
- excellent attention to detail with high quality data entry skills
- strong written and verbal communication skills

Previous experience in a purchasing position is not essential but will be highly regarded.
