**About the Opportunity**

Are you ready to make a difference in a fast-growing and diverse municipality? As the Strategic Planning Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Mitchell Shire by leading a dynamic team in delivering innovative land use planning solutions. Your responsibilities will include coordinating strategic planning initiatives, updating the Mitchell Shire Planning Scheme, preparing and reviewing development frameworks and policies, and overseeing planning scheme amendments to ensure alignment with Council policies and legislative requirements.

You will provide high-level strategic advice on development proposals, promote community engagement in strategic planning, and foster a collaborative, professional culture within the team.

This is your opportunity to address complex peri-urban planning challenges, contribute meaningfully to municipal development, and drive forward innovative solutions.

This role is a permanent full-time opportunity with a Monthly ADO. The total remuneration package on offer for this opportunity is $160k inclusive of superannuation.

**About You**

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for shaping communities and do you have a proven history of leading successful planning projects and teams? With qualifications in urban planning, ideally in the Victorian system, you bring valuable experience in statutory and strategic planning. Your strong leadership and mentoring skills inspire teams to tackle complex challenges, while your in-depth knowledge of planning legislation and policies, especially in peri-urban and rural areas, ensures practical and effective solutions. Combine this with your excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management abilities, and you're perfectly positioned to deliver impactful, community-focused outcomes.
