This senior position sits within Nine's Marketing services division 'Powered'. The team develops partnerships for brands within our content across all distribution platforms - broadcast, digital, print, radio and social and in our client's own communication channels.
Powered also works with brands on the creation of bespoke content and seeks out new revenue opportunities which can be derived from our content and distribution platforms.
**Job Description**:
The position delivers innovative and compelling solutions for the AFR and the broader fintech category, working closely with the Director of Content Partnerships and broader sales team to cultivate relationships with our most important Fintech clients. This role will also work closely with the brand specialists and creative studios to ensure we deliver responses that are on-brief with a positive ROI.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Build and manage relationships with key senior leaders across AFR, SMH/AGE editorially and wider Nine business as needed
- Develop an operational plan and commercial roadmap that contributes to AFR's overall market revenue goals
- Act as "Fintech Sales Expert" within the broader Nine sales teams. Have command of and be responsible for the growth of the Finance and tech category at Publishing at Nine
- Ensure the sales team understand the product strategy, the commercial opportunities, data and market intel and insights at their disposal
- Manage a team of content partnership managers on the AFR and work closely with the Metro Masthead team
- Collaborate with the broader agency sales team, Studios team, along with Powered and the Content Partnership teams where relevant to deliver the budget and pitch commercial opportunities to clients and agencies
- Foster and maintain ongoing relationships with our top direct Fintech clients, and understand their changing needs, while partnering with the relevant internal vertical and agency teams
- Create proactive AFR commercial packages and GTM assets in conjunction with the Brand Specialist and Trade Marketing team
- Work with Director of Content & Commercial Strategy, Brand Specialist and Trade Marketing on the creation of compelling go to market collateral and be responsible for the timely communication of opportunities to the sales teams
- Work with Trade Marketing to maximise value of client executions such as category thought leadership research pieces in market and internal sales tools.
- Be the champion of content commercialisation, the lead on your designated portfolio and category expertise, and take full responsibility for driving the delivery of market leading solutions as well as driving commercial innovation
- Acts as a 2IC to Director of Content Partnerships - Total Publishing to help support the broader Total Publishing Content partnership team
**Qualifications**:
**Essential experience & skills**:
- Minimum of 8 years commercial or senior sales management experience and in-depth understanding of key business drivers and levers
- Experience working within Fintech markets and/or a deep passion and understanding of the financial markets and category players/influencers/trends
- Be a avid reader of AFR and fully immersed in the Fintech sector
- Experience in selling digital and/or print advertising or marketing products
- Proven success in coaching a team towards the achievement of their KPIs.
- Demonstrated ability in driving commercial initiatives which deliver improvements, efficiency or differentiation in market positioning.
- Expertise with brand integration - and a proven track record of success
- Proven success in developing and implementing annual growth strategies that impact the business position within the market
- Ability to identify and translate sales opportunities into profitable outcomes and demonstrate sound judgement around assessing opportunities
- Highly developed skills in financial forecasting, revenue planning and budget management
- Sets clear expectations on revenue goals and expectations, behaviour, engagement and team collaboration
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills, strong presentation and communication kills
