**The Opportunity**:
Maxima in conjunction with their client are seeking a passionate individual looking to kick-start their horticulture career.

This fulltime traineeship will give you the opportunity to get your hands dirty and work outdoors, assisting to maintain the gardens and grounds of local aged care communities.

Over a 3-year period you will receive paid, on-the-job training and experience, as well as formal study, and training towards a nationally recognised **Certificate III in Horticulture.**

**Duties Include**:

- Maintain local aged care community green spaces
- Assist in building and grounds maintenance
- Mulch, prune, and water plants
- Pest and weed control
- Minor landscaping works
- Lay and install irrigation pipes and watering systems
- Use of garden tools and machinery

S**kills and Knowledge**:

- Enjoy working outdoors and with garden tools
- Be committed, reliable and hardworking
- Manage and prioritise time when working under pressure
- Work effectively in a team and unsupervised
- Good communication skills
- Have a can-do attitude, displaying initiative on the job

**Role Requirements**:

- Must hold a provisional or full driver's licence and own vehicle
- Physically fit and healthy due to undertaking manual labour work
- Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment, including a drug and alcohol test
- Previous experience in gardening, horticulture, or similar (advantageous)
