What does a Graduate Ecologist do?
Your day-to-day tasks could include:Participating in the delivery of projects ranging from ecology, environmental approvals and permits, and environmental compliance.Assisting in undertaking field and laboratory work such as sampling and testingAssisting in data analysis and report preparationDeveloping practical and commercial solutions to problemsUndertaking work related training and self-development for career advancementCollaborating with project staff and work within a team of technical specialists in their fieldConduct targeted flora and fauna surveyWhat does a Graduate Terrestrial Ecologist/Botanist do?
Undertake flora and fauna surveys, targeted species surveys and prepare associated reportsProvide ecological advise on focussing flora and fauna identification, conservation and managementCollect, compile and interpret field and laboratory dataWork as part of a broader ecological and environmental services team to provided integrated environmental advice to clients and governmentPrepare proposals, reports and management plans within given timeframesWhat does a Graduate Aquatic Ecologist do?
Displaying understanding of the fields of marine and freshwater ecologyTaking part in estuarine, marine and /or freshwater field studiesUndertaking desk research for review, including working independently as requiredDemonstrating a solid understanding of environmental legislation and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current industry standards, practices, environmental legislation and approvals processesEnsuring work output is of a technically high standardTechnical report writing utilising conventional standards expected for scientific reportingAbout you:A degree inEcology, Environmental Science or related, Botany, Geography, Geology or Environmental Science/EngineeringPassion for learning and problem-solvingEligible to work in AustraliaCurrently in final year of degree or 1-2 years of experienceHold a valid driver's licenceWhy Stantec?
