**As a Policy Officer working for a government agency,** your role and **responsibilities** will include but not be limited to:

- Consulting with stakeholders, conducting literature reviews, and developing recommendations for policy changes or improvements.
- Providing advice and guidance on policy issues to senior officials within your agency, government ministers, or other stakeholders.
- Drafting reports and briefing notes and other documents to communicate policy recommendations and updates to stakeholders.
- Conducting research and analyzing data to support your recommendations and ensure that your policies are evidence-based.
- Establishing the necessary systems, tools, and administrative processes to support policy development
- Prepare and, as appropriate, present discussion papers, submissions, reports, and briefings for committees, expert bodies, ministers, or key decision-makers

Overall, as a Policy Officer working for a government agency, you will be responsible for ensuring that policies are developed, implemented, and monitored effectively, with a focus on achieving positive outcomes for stakeholders and the broader community.
