The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented Employment Lawyer with 3+ years PQE to join our dynamic team in our modern Chatswood/Sydney CBD office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior lawyer looking to work in a forward-thinking firm with a collaborative environment.
You will handle a diverse range of employment law issues, working closely with a dedicated team and supporting a broad client base.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert advice to clients on employment law matters, including drafting, interpreting, and advising on employment agreements, company policies, and procedures.
Assist clients in managing industrial relations issues, including negotiations and compliance matters.
Offer guidance on workplace issues such as terminations, grievances, disciplinary actions, discrimination, and health and safety obligations, including conducting workplace investigations.
Interpret employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth), Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (NSW), and related laws to ensure clients meet their legal obligations.
Prepare and assist with litigation processes, including unfair dismissal claims, general protections applications, breach of contract disputes, and restraint matters.
Draft legal documents such as applications, affidavits, witness statements, and pleadings, and manage case files efficiently.
Negotiate settlement agreements and advise clients on dispute resolution strategies.
Collaborate proactively with clients to identify employment law risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, fostering strong ongoing relationships.
Support and supervise junior staff and contribute to the continuous improvement of legal services.
Who We Are Looking For
A minimum of 3 years PQE in employment law, with experience in both employee and employer matters.
Strong knowledge of employment legislation, including Fair Work Act and anti-discrimination laws.
Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver high-quality legal advice independently.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Leadership experience is preferred for senior practitioners.
