As a fundamental player in the Defence industry, UGL supports the Defence Fuel Network across 100 Australian Defence bases nationwide. From operations and maintenance to asset management and fuel supply services, our team ensures delivery that is effective and sustainable. We are expanding the scope of works within UGL's portfolio and are recruiting a Trades Assistant / Work Execution Officer to join our Operations & Maintenance team at the Darwin RAAF Base in the NT. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Australian Defence environment and support the security requirements of the Nation. The Role
Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be based at Darwin RAAF Base, Northern Territory, supporting surrounding locations with occasional regional travel. You will be part of a core crew of UGL technicians. These duties include, but are not limited to:
Scoping mechanical and electrical work activities
Procurement of materials and creation of work packs
Management of maintenance documentation on Computerised Maintenance Management System
Coordination of contractors including obtaining quotes and documentation
Assisting maintenance technicians in field works
Support various sites in the region, with occasional travel to sites throughout NT
General administration and ad hoc duties as required
What You Need
You will be a strong team player, a self-starter and dedicated employee who will draw on your experience and diverse skills to deliver high-quality outcomes for UGL and our customer. The following are desirable:
Previous labouring or trade (mechanical) experience highly regarded
Experience with SAP-based Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
Experience preparing permit to work documentation and risk assessments
Safety is at the forefront of everything you do
Currently hold, or ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance
Savvy IT / computer literacy and skills
