Northrop Grumman Australia provides the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) with through-life support for its fleet of KC-30A Multi-role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft—a derivative of the Airbus A330-200. The platform is a trusted and proven asset and the program is continually growing in capability and expertise.
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced **ASI, PSI & System Safety Manager **to join the KC-30A Engineering team based at Amberley and Springfield.
The ASI/PSI/System Safety Manager will work closely with the managers of the Airframes, Avionics and Mission Systems teams, to coordinate required SME support for open investigations as well as ensuring actions are taken to address System Safety hazards and manage any issues arising from assessments of Aircraft Structural and Propulsion Systems.
**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Manage the delivery of outputs from the Aircraft Structural Integrity (ASI), Propulsion Systems Integrity (PSI) & System Safety Programs.
- Develop resourcing plans and master schedules
- Support the professional development of Aircraft Structural Integrity (ASI), Propulsion Systems Integrity (PSI) & System Safety Engineers as required maintaining adequate levels of technical proficiency and Engineering Authority (EA) within the team.
- Work with counterparts in the Airframes, Avionics and Missions Systems teams, to coordinate required SME support for open investigations and ensure actions are taken to manage open system safety hazards.
- provide visibility on open issues and investigations which cause or might cause adverse effects on the airworthiness of the product, or otherwise affect the continued integrity of aircraft structure and propulsion systems.
- Ensure all deliverables meet the agreed scope / customer's needs, as well as contractual and regulatory requirements under Part21.
- Manage updates to the ASI Management Plan (ASIMP),PSI Management Plan (PSIMP), System Safety Program Services Manual and System Safety Program Plan (SSPP)
- Support Hazard Review Boards, Airworthiness Boards or similar CoA / DASA forums.
- Maintain an understanding of System Safety and Aviation Safety Management Systems under Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASRs), and the role of each in the Through Life Support (TLS) environment.
- Maintain an understanding of Risk Management in the Defence Aviation Safety Program, including means of communicating risk to Operators / Hazard Tracking Authorities (HTAs).
