Job Description
The role of Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecology involves leading a multidisciplinary team to provide specialist obstetrics and gynaecology services to patients. This includes promoting patient safety and quality of care, as well as providing leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers.
In collaboration with the Head of Department (HoD) Obstetrics and Gynaecology and other Consultants, you will work to achieve national, state and East Metropolitan Health Service performance standards and targets. You will also work within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the Area Medical Credentialing Committee.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Applicants must have relevant qualifications and experience in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology. A strong understanding of patient safety and quality improvement is essential, as is the ability to provide effective leadership and education.
Additionally, applicants must be able to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and other stakeholders.
