- LOCATION & FACILITIES
- Located close to Monbulk and Kallista in the Dandenong Ranges east of Melbourne, The Patch Primary School is situated in an unsurpassed rural environment. The school has extensive playing fields, basketball court, imaginative and creative playing areas, and a wide range of play equipment. The school has a wetlands, fern gully and large outdoor environment for nature-based learning that has been designed and created by the students and school community.
- The school buildings consist of an architecturally designed Main Building, Learning Hub, two BER classroom pods, Art Centre, Eco Centre, Music Room and a school Hall. Each grade has their own individual classroom to support student focus, as well as both indoor and outdoor learning spaces for collaboration between grades.

- Our school has developed a positive reputation for our nature-based learning and emphasis on wellbeing within the broader community and, as a result, enrolments have increased steadily over the years to the current enrolment of just over 290 students. Our focus on smaller class sizes supports our staff to know their students and support their learning needs.

- The primary focus of the range 1 classroom teacher is on further developing skills and competencies to become an effective classroom practitioner with structured support and guidance from teachers at higher levels and the planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes.
- These teachers teach a range of students/classes and are accountable for the effective delivery of their programs. Range 1 classroom teachers are skilled teachers who operate under general direction within clear guidelines following established work practices and documented priorities and may have responsibility for the supervision and training of one or more student teachers.
- At range 1, teachers participate in the development of school policies and programs and assist in the implementation of school priorities.
- Teachers at range 1 are responsible for teaching their own classes and may also assist and participate in policy development, project teams and the organisation of co-curricula activities.
