As the Head of Personnel you will be responsible for all aspects of human resources management, including recruitment, selection, hiring, orientation, training, development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and rostering. You will also be in charge of developing and implementing policies and procedures related to human resources management, while working closely with the executive team to develop and implement the company's human resources strategy.

To be successful in this role, you need to have a strong understanding of human resources (HR) processes, best practices, shift coordination and rostering, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You should also be able to work effectively with people at all levels within the organization, including executives, managers, and employees. This role is one that requires an individual to be both detail-oriented and strategic.

You will be working directly under the Senior Operations Manager, managing a team of 25 employees.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Hiring, training, and overseeing all staff to ensure they are performing their jobs effectively
- Ensuring that all applicable employment laws are being followed, including those pertaining to discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, affirmative action, minimum wage requirements, and overtime pay
- Conducting exit interviews with terminated employees to determine reasons for termination and whether any steps can be taken to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future
- Developing and implementing policies that ensure compliance with legal requirements related to hiring, termination, discrimination, harassment, compensation, and other areas of human resources management
- Determining the need for new positions within the company and creating job descriptions for those positions
- Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
- Develop and implement new employee orientation and onboarding programs
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensure compliance with all applicable laws
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues
- Serve as a resource to employees regarding policies, procedures, and programs
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the efficient use of personnel
- Conducting employee training to ensure they are aware of policies and procedures related to their jobs
- Preparing reports on staff turnover rates and providing recommendations for reducing the rate if it is too high
- Reviewing employee performance to determine if any changes need to be made in order to improve productivity or satisfaction
- Providing performance-based reviews of employees' work performance to determine if they should be promoted or given raises
- Serve as a strategic business partner to leadership, aligning human resources initiatives with the company's overall objectives
- Develop and implement programs, policies, and processes that attract, retain, develop, and motivate a high-performing workforce
- Design and deliver training programs that support the development of a skilled and engaged workforce
- Training and supervising new employees to ensure they are able to perform all job duties correctly
- Scheduling employees' work hours and determining which employees should work during different times of day based on factors such as employee skill sets, experience levels, and patterns during different parts of the day or week
- Identifying opportunities for improvement in employee performance and helping them develop effective work habits to improve their performance over time
- Providing feedback to management regarding employee performance issues and potential problems that may arise in the workplace
- Monitoring employee attendance to ensure it meets company standards, reviewing time off requests to ensure they are approved in accordance with company policies, and disciplining employees who violate policies regarding attendance or tardiness
- Lead and direct team members to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
- Handle employee inquiries and complaints in a professional and courteous manner
- Adhere to all safety and security protocols
- Prepare shift reports detailing team performance and highlighting any areas of concern
- Handle cash and other financial transactions in accordance with company policy

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or related field
- 5+ years experience in human resources management
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective personnel policies
- Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Highly organized with superb attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Flexible schedule
