Children's Health Queensland provides services from key locations in the Brisbane metropolitan area and works with the 15 other hospital and health services as well as NGOs and charity partners in Queensland to deliver an integrated network of healthcare services and support across the state.
**Your Opportunity**:
The Advanced Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker (Hearing Health) is responsible for leading components of the Deadly Ears Program for Queensland Healthto reduce the rates and impacts of middle ear disease and conductive hearing loss for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children across Queensland who currently have one of the highest rates of otitis media, or middle ear disease, in the world. Your position will:
Work within a multi-disciplinary team to plan and deliver specialist outreach services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children with middle ear disease, hearing loss and any associated speech and developmental concerns.
Provide ear and hearing assessments within scope of practice as well as assist nursing, ENT, audiological speech and occupational therapy consultations and procedures.
Support and embedding of ear and hearing health promotion practices in the core business of local primary health services.
