Calling all water-loving enthusiasts Are you a passionate individual who enjoys working with kids and is dedicated to water safety? YMCA Victoria, in partnership with Merri-bek City Council, is seeking vibrant and engaging Swim Teachers to join our dynamic team at Brunswick Baths, Coburg Leisure Centre, and Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre.

**About the role**

As a Swim Teacher, you will have the incredible opportunity to shape young lives through engaging swimming instruction. Dive into your responsibilities, which include:

- Developing and delivering captivating lesson plans that promote swimming skill building in school-aged children.
- Crafting structured lessons with exciting activities that challenge and enhance students' swimming and water safety abilities.
- Recognizing and recommending students for level progression based on their progress and capabilities.
- Teaching and modelling effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to encourage growth.
- Building confidence and nurturing a lifelong love for swimming in your students.

**About you**

You will be passionate about inspiring and developing water safety and swimming skills in children and young people. Experience in other teaching or coaching roles is a bonus but not necessary. Personal attributes such as patience, respect, and enthusiasm will take you far as a Swim Teacher

We are seeking individuals who possess the following qualities:

- An innate passion for working with kids and a desire to contribute to their development and well-being.
- A strong dedication to water safety and the ability to ignite a love for swimming in students.
- Eligibility for government-funded training opportunities.
- Proficiency in swimming 200m using a recognizable stroke.

To excel in this role, you should also demonstrate:

- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service to parents and students.
- A high level of motivation and commitment to maintaining a standard of teaching excellence.
- A friendly, approachable demeanour that fosters positive connections.
- Genuine interest, enthusiasm, patience, and respect for children and colleagues.

**Qualifications - Funding May be Available**
- CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain before commencing)
- Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety qualification (or willingness to obtain before commencing)
