About the role
The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) specialises in helping infants, children and young people (up to 18 years of age) who have complex mental health needs. The CYMHS works collaboratively and in a recovery-oriented way to support children, young people and their families. The service provides community services, outreach and tele-psychiatry programs, early intervention and other specialty services.
The Mental Health Clinician Senior will demonstrate a high level of clinical knowledge and skills to ensure effective service delivery within the speciality area of the Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) unit. This role delivers high level professional clinical mental health services as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to optimise care for infants who are at risk of severe and complex mental health problems and disorders, and their families and carers.
The Mental Health Clinician Senior will deliver high level clinical services in accordance with CYMHS Model of Service, professional code of ethics and National Practice Standards for the Mental Health Workforce.
About you
- High level independent clinical services including assessment, treatment and case management to infants at risk of severe and complex mental health problems, and their carer networks, beyond routine day to day presentations
- Clinical leadership in advocacy for the mental health needs of service consumers and their carers and relevant agencies within the infant mental health team.
- High level specialised infant mental health advice and reports and work collaboratively with team members to provide multi-disciplinary assessment and intervention for service consumers.
- High level infant mental health knowledge and skills for team training and continuing professional development activities to contribute to the quality and safety of the service.
- Provide high level infant mental health knowledge and skill into team training and continuing professional development activities to contribute to the knowledge and skills of the infant mental health team and broader CYMHS teams.

**Mandatory Requirements**:

- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Vaccinated against COVID-19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12/21and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
