Overview Senior Software Engineer position at Valrose, located in Perth, Western Australia, Australia.
Be part of a highly collaborative and high-performing team in a fast-paced startup environment as they prepare to scale.This is an opportunity to join right before a growth surge—they've begun securing clients, are onboarding early adopters, and are on the verge of achieving product-market fit.As a Senior Software Engineer , you'll work across the stack, taking ownership from architecture to delivery, while mentoring others and playing a key role in integrating AI and large language model (LLM)-driven features into the platform.Responsibilities Lead the design and delivery of AI-powered features from concept to production.Build and maintain RAG pipelines using vector databases like Pinecone or Azure Cognitive Search.Develop reusable prompt libraries and orchestration layers using tools like LangChain or LlamaIndex.Design scalable, resilient software solutions that solve complex business problems.Collaborate with stakeholders, gather requirements, and iterate quickly based on real-time feedback.Qualifications Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work fast and independently in a startup environment.Strong AWS skills – Infrastructure as code.Back-end: Node.js with GraphQL APIs, PostgreSQL/MySQL.Proven experience building with large language models and generative AI.
(Amazon Bedrock, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain, vector databases)DevOps experience: CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, release processes.Experience with scalable architectures, high-availability systems, and database scaling.Bonus: Power Automate, performance/load testing, headless CMS, mobile frameworks (React Native, Ionic, PWA).
