**Role Purpose**:
**About this job**
Yarra Trams is looking for experienced and suitably qualified electricians and fitters to join our Rollingstock Maintenance Team. This role will be responsible for operational maintenance of rollingstock to ensure safe and efficient running of the Yarra Trams Fleet.
These positions are for various depots throughout Metro Melbourne.
**What the role entails**
- Undertaking examination and inspection of rollingstock to identify any faults or defects.
- Carrying out repairs, component change out, servicing and modification to rollingstock.
- Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with technical & operational specifications.
- Providing material requirements to ensure safe and efficient running of rollingstock.
**What you will need for this role**
- Suitably qualified in relevant trade
- Great attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Sound verbal communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Ability to work shift work. including weekends and public holidays
- Experience in providing technical advice (Knowledge sharing) to other tradespersons
- Experience overseeing the work of less experienced staff (including apprentices)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal and an ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- An awareness and understanding of the OH&S and environmental risks that pertain to this role
- Ability to work shift work, including weekends and public holidays if required
- A current Victorian Drivers Licence and be capable of driving a tram
