Your new role:
In your new role you will be working with a diverse team of committed and innovative, ground-work focussed, academically colourful and un-boxed professionals to support the growth, empowerment and opportunities of our customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Person centred direct care and personal care to NDIS participants that empowers and promotes their authenticity and choice and control
- Communicating participants and their representatives in timely and respectful manners
- Obtaining expert assistance and policy directions from internal and external stakeholders when required
- Completing concise and objective progress reports in accordance with the NDIA commission
- Handling complex and sensitive conversations and considering many factors that need to be balanced in order to understand how disability impacts on daily living
- Think on your feet with ongoing mindfulness of person centred, team oriented and compliance regulated actions.
What you need to succeed and grow with our company;
To be successful in this position you will:
- Have a minimum 12 months experience supporting people with a disability and/or mental health to maximise their participation in community
- Competent IT skills for reporting, acknowledging shifts, rostering and administrative compliance
- Have a strong understanding and knowledge of disability and its impacts on individuals
- Display a positive attitude towards people living with disability and mental health issues and their families
- Have strong, positive and versatile communication and interpersonal skills
- Hold a current First Aid certificate, working with children check and national police clearance certificate and NDIS Worker Screening Check
- The capacity and willingness to engage in negotiation if dealing with external providers and stepping up spontaneously where others can't
- Ability to work closely with participants, their carers and their larger networks of support proactively
- The dignified capacity to manage confidential and sensitive information
- Outstanding judgement, Optimism and decision-making skills
- Ability to provide a mentorship to other team members

Expected hours: 10 - 15 per week
