Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Buscojobs Full time

The Position
The Acquisition Specialist actively supports the pursuit of high-priority funding opportunities to enhance organizational impact and ensure sustainable growth for the delivery of World Vision Australia's Corporate and Institutional Market strategies.
This involves contributing to market research, building and maintaining relationships with key donors, field offices, and partners, undertaking pre-positioning activities, maintaining a pipeline of funding opportunities, developing high-quality proposals, grants, and tenders, and reporting on acquisition performance.
Success in this role requires collaboration with internal teams—including technical advisors, program management, corporate, impact, and evidence teams—as well as other World Vision field offices, external partners, and donors.
Your role is integral to the organization, addressing global issues and supporting our mission to empower Australians to create meaningful change for the world's most vulnerable.
Key Responsibilities
Support business development plans to strengthen partnerships with government, donors, and the private sector, including conducting market research to identify trends and opportunities.
Develop project concepts with World Vision teams and maintain relationships with donors and partners.
Collaborate across teams to design donor-focused solutions.
Lead bid teams to create high-quality proposals and budgets, write, edit, and proofread funding proposals, and manage bid submissions to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
Train and coach teams to improve proposal quality and partner engagement.
Develop donor briefs and collect data for reporting to support global acquisition strategies.
Lead the transition of acquired proposals to implementation teams and seek opportunities to extend or scale successful programs.
Who We're Looking For
The successful applicant will possess a broad range of capabilities, including the ability to see opportunities where others see obstacles, demonstrating a can-do attitude, creativity, and a solutions-focused approach.
Qualifications and Experience
Understanding of humanitarian challenges and community-led development, knowledge of donor landscapes, and experience with funding processes.
Skilled in proposal writing, bid management, and building donor relationships.
Proven leadership in multidisciplinary teams, with experience in developing or conflict-affected areas.
Strong background in program design, contractor management, and applying research.
Ability to work independently and achieve outcomes within project timelines.
Relevant degree in international development, international relations, business, management, economics, or similar.
The Selection Process
Interviews will commence immediately and the role may be filled before the closing date.
We embrace diversity, employing people from various cultural and religious backgrounds.
We take safeguarding responsibilities seriously and are committed to providing a safe environment for children.
All successful candidates will undergo pre-employment checks, including a criminal record check.
We provide ongoing supervision, support, and training for our staff and volunteers working with vulnerable children and families.
World Vision Australia participates in the Inter-Agency Scheme for the Disclosure of Safeguarding-related Misconduct in Recruitment Processes within the Humanitarian and Development Sector.
Who We Are
World Vision is a Christian organization empowering Australians to create meaningful change for children through relief, development, and advocacy work.
We offer benefits such as salary packaging, birthday leave, flexible working arrangements, free on-site parking, and an onsite café.
