We are seeking a dedicated and passionate** Learning Support Assistant (Secondary)** to join St Andrews Christian College in Wantirna South. As a key member of the Learning Support department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational development and well-being of our secondary students. The main responsibilities and tasks of the role include:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with learning difficulties or additional needs, both in and out of the classroom.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and offer tailored support to ensure student progress.
- Collaborate with teachers to create inclusive learning environments and adapt materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Support students in developing essential study skills, organisational strategies, and self-confidence.
- Contribute to the assessment process by providing feedback on student progress and maintaining accurate records of support provided.
- Establish positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and external agencies to foster a holistic approach to student support.
- Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills in supporting diverse learning needs.

**Desired Skills and Experiences**:
- Experience working in a similar role within a secondary school environment
- Strong understanding of learning support strategies and techniques
- Ability to assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Proven experience in providing one-on-one and small group support to students with diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to special educational needs and disabilities
- Ability to adapt support strategies to meet the individual needs of students
- Proficient in using technology to support student learning and engagement
- An empathetic and patient approach when working with students facing learning challenges
- A commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students
