About the firm and role
We have been briefed by the partners of a US law firm who are looking for strong litigation layers for their Global Disputes practice in Sydney.
Their team services high-end, high-value and strategically significant litigation work for leading global and Australian clients.
You will work on some of the largest and most complex matters in Australia and internationally.
While this role sits in our Sydney you will be joining an integrated Global Disputes team of more than 200 lawyers in 27 offices worldwide.
Key responsibilities
High value and strategically significant contract/commercial disputes and arbitrations.
Class action defence and resolution.
Royal Commissions and Parliamentary inquiries.
Investigations and enforcement actions by ASIC, APRA, AUSTRAC, ACCC, law enforcement and various corruption investigation bodies.
Globally significant test case litigation brought by the Australian Government.
Sensitive internal investigations for major corporate clients spanning fraud, corruption and misconduct allegations.
Qualifications
A strong background as a litigation lawyer with 3-6PQE.
Experience gained from a well-regarded firm, particularly general commercial litigation and/or regulatory litigation.
An excellent academic transcript.
An ability to confidently communicate with others across the firm and a pragmatic, friendly and down-to-earth approach.
A commitment to working in a high performing team.
