With state-of-the-art event spaces including a Grand Ballroom, the hotel blends soulful escapes and meaningful connection with refined coastal elegance — setting a new benchmark for beachfront hospitality in Australia.About The RoleWe're looking for a dedicated Handyperson to work with our Chief Engineer and assist with general repairs and maintenance throughout the hotel, helping to keep everything running smoothly and looking its best.

If you're someone who enjoys hands-on tasks, solves problems with care, and wants to be part of creating memorable guest experiences, we'd love to have you on our team.A little taste of your day-to-dayEvery day is different, but mostly you'll be:Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, team members in compliance with regulatory policies and proceduresHelp guests needs to ensure their satisfactionMaintain and order parts and supplies whilst minimising waste and maintaining "green" initiativesMay be responsible for hotel security to minimise risk of theft, crime and other hazardsGeneral maintenance and upkeep of the hotel premises.Minor repairs of non-gas or non-electrical kitchen equipmentUnderstanding of air conditioning principlesMinor plumbing e.g. tap washers, toilet flushers and sealsMinor carpentry work e.g. installation of skirting boards and adjustedMinor Painting work including minor repairs to wallpaperChanging light globes, maintain the in-house TV and movie system, room automation system.Minor bathroom repairs e.g. grouting and minor repairs to tiles, replacement of silicone, minor water damage in hotel areasEmployee CriteriaFull working rights in Australia without restrictions (a kind reminder that sponsorship is not available for this role)Must have some experience in general building maintenance and/ or construction or equivalent combination of education and experience;Hotel maintenance / engineering experience is preferred.Have a good understanding of both product and equipment used throughout the working day.
Use all equipment in a safe and practical manner, ensuring the safety of colleagues and guests.Ongoing availability to work flexibly as rostered, including nights, weekends and public holidaysPassion for providing luxury experiences, not shy to go above and beyond to personalise our Guests stay and provide your local wisdom to enhance their experienceSome college or advanced vocational trade training preferred.Professional certification and licences if required by lawImpeccable grooming standards and good personal hygiene.Good customer service skills and confident verbal communication - you may need to visit guest rooms
An organised approach, ability to handle large amounts of information at once and deal with various requests simultaneouslyPhysical fitness as you'll be on your feet most of the day.
