As the Group Financial Officer, you are responsible for managing the Finance function. This includes the preparation of Board and management reports, cash flow management, annual budgets, financial forecasts, taxation, commercial analysis and preparation of the Group's financial statements. This role is also responsible for ensuring the financial systems and transactions are maintained to high standards to ensure data quality and integrity are maintained.

You are expected to provide leadership, technical and practical accounting expertise to the business and to ensure accounting policies and procedures are developed and adhered to.

**What is the role?**
- Management of the finance function, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Group's accounting records and financial systems.
- Management of the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts for the Board of Directors, Executive and Business Unit Management.
- Provide analysis and insights to explain the Group's performance, highlighting trends, areas of concern, variance to budget/ forecast and recommendations for any corrective action.
- Ensure key balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations are performed and reviewed on a monthly or agreed regular basis.
- Develop and implement best practices, procedures and process improvements across the Finance function, including other commercial business processes that relate to accounting.
- Work closely with all business units to identify and develop profit improvement opportunities.
- Manage the day-to-day cash flow including the preparation of accurate cash flow forecasts and ensuring cash flow is managed to service bank facilities.
- Management and preparation of the annual financial budgets for all group entities.
- Lead and manage the annual external audit across the Group companies.
- Lead and manage the preparation of the group income tax returns, monthly Business Activity Statements and FBT returns, whilst ensuring compliance with Australian Taxation legislation and deadlines.
- Provide leadership, direction, motivation and support to the Finance team members.
- Develop a culture within the team to embrace change, encourage process improvements and the delivery of high-quality service and support.

**Who are you?**
- Post graduate qualification (CA or CPA).
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- Retail, FMCG or similar experience.
- Previous ASX company experience highly regarded.
- Previous AP21 experience highly regarded.
- High attention to detail.
- A true leadership mindset - including the ability to see the bigger picture, motivate and inspire a team.
- Highly personable with the ability to quickly build rapport and relationships.
- Constantly questions the norm and find ways to improve or streamline processes and procedures.
