JDA Hotels has an exciting opportunity available for experienced **Kitchen Hands **at **The Peakhurst Hotel**. This is a genuine career advancement opportunity for an ambitious individual that may potentially be seeking a future career as a Chef or for an individual who enjoys the busyness of a large kitchen.

**About the role**

The positions currently vacant involve primarily the cleaning of the kitchen and at times, be able to take instructions from the Chefs. The positions vacant are casual, working to a roster which will include covering days, nights and weekends.

Your overall responsibility is to assist with ensuring kitchen cleanliness and the ability to assist with various kitchen duties. You may be required to assist with unpacking and organising deliveries, mopping up kitchen spills, wiping down work stations and assisting with the storage of food items.

**Skills and Experience**
- Strong Kitchen Hand experience.
- Ability to work through high volumes of dishes that require washing, drying and stored correctly.
- Cleaning of equipment, floors, sections within the kitchen etc.
- Performing basic cleaning duties and ensuring that work stations are properly sanitised.
- Can start immediately.
- Have own transport.
- Full working rights in Australia.

**Qualifications / Experience**
- High school certificate
- Certification in Culinary Arts is advantageous
- Safe food handling certificate
- Proven commercial kitchen experience
- Awareness of manual handling techniques
- Experience with dangerous equipment (i.e. knives)
- Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations
- The ability to stand for extended periods
- The ability to work under pressure
- Excellent organisational skills
- Competent level of English spoken and written
- Basic knowledge of all sections of a kitchen
- Ability to work under supervision and independently
- Understanding of basic food hygiene practices, health and safety
- Attention to detail
- Enthusiasm to develop your own skills and knowledge
- Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes
- Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work
- Positive and approachable manner
- Team player qualities
- Drivers Licence preferable (able to get to work to cover shifts at short notice).
