We are currently seeking caring and reliable Disability Support Workers, to join our team at Interchange Inner East.

We support a diverse mix of participants and their families across inner eastern Melbourne; where shifts may require travel to areas including Surrey Hills, Camberwell, Kew, Box Hill, Croydon, Lilydale, Mooroolbark, Doncaster, etc.

We're very proud of how special and caring our Disability Support Workers are and if you work with us, your role may include tasks such as:

- Personal care, such as showering, dressing, grooming and assisting with medication
- Understanding what's important to the person you're supporting and helping them do or achieve that
- Assisting with everyday activities and supporting our customers to be out and about in their community, e.g., grocery shopping, cooking meals, swimming, bowling, camping, park visits, trips, hikes, medical appointments etc.
- Monitoring well-being and reporting on progress or concerns
- Participating in staff meetings and attending training (as required).

**What can you offer us?**

- You can prioritise a busy workload and respond to emergency situations if they arise
- Willingness to travel up to 20-30kms for a shift
- You're fit, energetic, confident and probably aged between 25-35
- Strong verbal communication and good written skills
- Experience supporting individuals with behaviours of concerns, special needs or communication difficulties will be highly regarded
- Cert 3/4 in Individual Support or Cert 3/4 in Disability will be highly regarded
- Experience with Manual Handling and Medication Administration (desirable)
- Availability for shifts between 8am - 8pm, Monday to Friday. Weekends and sleepover shifts also available.

**Salary**: $38.81 - $48.34 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
- Penalty rates

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Surrey Hills VIC: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- National Police Certificate (preferred)
- Driver Licence (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)
