IT Systems Engineer
to strengthen our Technology team. In this role, you'll design, implement, and optimise robust IT and OT infrastructure solutions that support both internal operations and our customers. You'll architect, deliver, and integrate technologies that underpin mission-critical energy and systems integration projects.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage scalable IT/OT infrastructure solutions, including servers, storage, networking, and cloud environments.
Lead systems integration across on-premises, cloud, and edge environments.
Administer and optimise virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Configure, maintain, and enhance network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VPNs, firewalls).
Implement and monitor advanced cybersecurity measures (zero-trust, IAM, SIEM, malware/antivirus).
Develop and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
Manage M365 environments (Entra ID, Intune, Teams) and user access controls.
Collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver infrastructure projects, providing technical leadership and clear documentation.
Support end-users with Level 2/3 technical issues and deliver training where required.
Continuously evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to improve performance, security, and scalability.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5+ years' experience in a similar IT systems engineering role.
Strong technical expertise in:
Windows & Linux server environments
Enterprise networking (routing, switching, VLANs, SD-WAN, VPNs, firewalls)
Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, IaaS, containers, DevOps pipelines)
Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
Security frameworks (IAM, SOC, SIEM, penetration testing).
Experience integrating IT with OT systems.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
Tertiary qualifications in IT, Computer Science, or Engineering (preferred).
Professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, CCNP/CCIE, VMware Certified Advanced Professional, AWS Solutions Architect) are highly regarded.
Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) will be highly regarded.
This role may require occasional work outside of standard business hours to provide support to our global customer base, including US-based customers.
