Tintern Grammar seeks to appoint a Head of Health and Secondary Teacher to lead the teaching and learning of Health, Human Development and Food Studies who will contribute enthusiastically to the broader positive culture of the school.

**About the Role**

The role requires an exceptional educator and leader who is able to teach up to VCE and who is passionate about engaging and motivating students. Proven leadership skills are essential to lead the department.

The Head of Health (Position of Responsibility) is a 12-month position of Leadership appointment in conjunction with a permanent part time teaching role. As the Head of Health, you will lead the department which includes Health, Health and Human Development, VCE Psychology, and Food Studies from Year 7 to VCE to deliver a vibrant curriculum and possess a strong knowledge of content and pedagogy in this area.

This role commences Term 1, 2025.

**About You**

You will be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and hold experience as a Head of Health or similar role. You will demonstrate as relevant:

- Strong leadership, staff management and mentoring skills
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- An ability to lead and support staff through periods of curriculum and operational change
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Experience managing a school kitchen and food technology area
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and interact with both adults and students
- Ability to support teaching staff to modify materials and curriculum for students
- Ensure the highest quality pastoral care for students and staff
- You will have a desire to work collaboratively with other teachers and actively engage in the broader life of the School
- You will encourage students to take risks within a structured school environment, to make individual choices and to use new experiences as learning opportunities
- Care and connectedness with students
- Ability and experience to teach Health & Human Development to VCE level
- Ability to teach Food Studies
- Strong IT skills
- Current VIT registration
- Relevant qualifications
