Our Finance team, based at Opal's Burnley VIC head office, has an exciting opportunity for a Group Financial Controller to join us.
Reporting to the GM Corporate Finance, this role will play a pivotal part in supporting group external reporting and financial control functions.You will be responsible for developing and maintaining financial accounting policies and procedures, while ensuring compliance with both local and international statutory reporting requirements.
A critical focus of the role is safeguarding the integrity of internal financial controls, providing senior management with robust assurance over financial reporting outcomes.As a key member of our 10-person corporate finance team – covering FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Insurance, and Reporting compliance – you will contribute to Opal's success by ensuring:Full compliance with statutory reporting obligationsEffective financial control and data integrity across reporting systemsWe are able to offer a varied career journey with experiential learning gained from cross-functional and lateral moves.

Ideally, you will bring:A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or CommerceProfessional accreditation as a CPA or CAExperience in manufacturing, heavy industry, or FMCG (highly regarded)Extensive knowledge of financial control and statutory reporting requirementsFamiliarity with systems such as SAP, TM1, Power BI, and advanced ExcelA results-driven mindset, with high levels of self-motivation and initiativeDemonstrated success in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teamsA hands-on approach, with the ability to engage confidently and effectively at all levels of the organisationDiscover more... by visiting our website at
