**Why your role matters**
The UNSW Division of Societal Impact, Equity and Engagement (DSIEE) leads UNSW's efforts to make a positive and lasting impact on society, promoting equity and social justice, and driving engagement activities which enhance UNSW's reputation as a key contributor to society through its research, teaching, and community engagement.
As the Engagement Lead, you will oversee strategic engagement activities with schools and students, supporting the pre-tertiary educational outreach program designed by Student Equity. This includes managing a distributed school relationship model, ensuring the implementation of strategic communications, and maintaining robust systems for data capture and engagement metrics. You will also monitor and report on key performance indicators to ensure the program's success.
Collaboration is central to this role, as you will work closely with the Learning Experiences and Students as Partners teams to deliver high-quality in-school, online, and on-campus experiences. Reporting to the Engagement Manager, you will lead a team of three direct reports, driving the effective delivery of impactful engagement initiatives.
Specific accountabilities for this role include:
- Ensure effective implementation of the engagement strategy to align with Student Equity's overarching strategic goals.
- Drive achievement of school and student engagement targets and lead implementation of Student Equity pre-tertiary engagement sub-strategy for students and schools, including identifying associated school tiers and targets, differentiated school and area strategic approaches and coordinate associated documentation, monitoring and reporting against key engagement metrics. -this will include work across Greater Western Sydney and regional NSW.
- Develop and model persuasive, educational outcomes-focused program communications for a range of school and student stakeholders.
- Lead a distributed school relationship management model and lead efficient scheduling and instrumentation for effective lead (CRM) and engagement data capture, to-scale, to meet necessary deadlines and key performance indicators of the program.
**About You**:
- A relevant degree and experience, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination of qualifications, training, and experience. A degree in Secondary Teaching would be highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic outcomes with pragmatic short-term requirements to deliver successful outcomes.
- Excellent relationship management skills, with a demonstrated track record of fostering and maintaining strong and successful internal and external networks, supporting successful outcomes, including University staff, University Ambassadors and NGO partners.
- Proven ability of leadership skills and demonstrated people management experience.
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills, with proven attention to accuracy and detail.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Australian school and University systems and contextual issues for schools and students from low SES backgrounds.
- Proven ability to work independently and adaptively, show initiative, solve problems, and contribute to the development of evidence
- informed strategies for the work area.
- Proficient computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Qualtrics and CRM)
- A full and unencumbered driver's licence and the ability and willingness to work outside of normal working hours and work at locations across Sydney and NSW.
