Hallcross Legal is looking for an experienced Senior Associate / Associate to join the firm in Sydney on a full-time, permanent basis.

Hallcross Legal is a boutique Sydney law firm specialising in corporate and commercial litigation, insolvency & restructuring and construction litigation. The firm is headed by its two directors Michael Mournehis and Nicholas Hallasso. The firm is presently in its growth phase and is looking to keep up with that demand. The successful applicant will be working in a close knit team, with opportunity for future growth in the role.
Responsibilities
The role offers an opportunity to take lead in managing commercial disputes and insolvency whilst having direct access to two partners. The type of work you will be responsible for:
Commencing and defending against formal proceedings in the Supreme Court and Federal Court;
Advisory in insolvency, particularly with respect to external administration;
Managing a team of three lawyers and one paralegal;
Responsibility for ensuring the progress of litigation files from commencement to conclusion.
Qualifications & Skills
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A minimum of 4 years legal experience in commercial litigation and/or insolvency (insolvency experience is not an absolute necessity);
An ability to effectively manage matters;
Strong advocacy, drafting and analytical skills;
Experience working with clients through complex litigation in the Supreme and Federal Court;
An ability to establish a professional profile and internal networks.
