Cost Accountant Role
This is a key position in the finance department responsible for maintaining accurate cost accounting records and ensuring compliance with company policies.
The successful candidate will analyze and manage costs associated with production, inventory, and operating expenses. This includes preparing and maintaining cost accounting records, analyzing and managing costs, and ensuring inventory is properly valued on the balance sheet.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing and maintaining cost accounting records to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Analyzing and managing costs associated with production, inventory, and operating expenses.
Ensuring inventory is properly valued on the balance sheet, including establishing required reserves.
Partnering with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to drive efficiency within the organization.
Required qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with an emphasis on manufacturing finance/cost accounting.
Minimum of 8+ years of experience using standard costing in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing industry.
Proven experience using advanced Excel functions for financial analyses, variance analysis, cost simulations.
Comfortable presenting complex financial metrics and KPIs to non-Finance personnel.
Strong knowledge of ERP system functionality with preference on NetSuite or Oracle.
Solid understanding of WMS (Warehouse Management System) and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems.
