Occupational Therapist - Rockingham
Part-time position - Monday & Tuesday | 15 hours per week. Based in Rockingham. Support daily operations and care delivery in a trusted aged care facility.
About the Role
BaptistCare is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist to join our residential aged care team at our 98 bed Gracehaven in Rockingham offering 15 hours per week. Depending on your location, a pool car may be available for travel to Rockingham. Vehicles can be reserved in advance and collected from our Belmont head office.
In this role, you will assess residents to identify their capabilities and develop personalised care plans aimed at supporting their physical and emotional well-being. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older Australians while working within a supportive and values-driven team.
You will work closely with the Lifestyle Coordinator to develop and review programs that promote residents\' independence and quality of life. You will also provide leadership and clinical supervision to the Lifestyle Coordinator and Therapy and Leisure Partners to ensure care plans are effectively implemented.
Your responsibilities include conducting assessments, monitoring residents\' needs, and building trusting relationships with residents based on dignity and respect. You will listen to family concerns, provide guidance on changing needs, and refer for additional support when necessary.
Responsibilities

Promote residents\' independence and quality of life through program development
Provide leadership and clinical supervision to the Lifestyle Coordinator and Therapy & Leisure Partners
Conduct assessments, monitor needs, and build trusting relationships with residents
Listen to family concerns and refer for additional support as needed
Qualifications
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist
Strong understanding of contemporary Occupational Therapy practices, especially in aged care
Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to care planning and delivery
Excellent communication skills with empathy, respect, and a person-centred approach
