About the Role
An experienced and safety-focused Boilermaker/Welder is sought to join the team on the BHP Western Ridge Crusher Project, located approximately 20 km southwest of Newman.
This is a FIFO position on a 20 days on, 8 days off roster, offering the opportunity to contribute to a significant BHP expansion.
As a key member of the project team, the Boilermaker/Welder will play a vital role in installing the structural components that power this major development.
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate and install cable ladder systems and supports to engineering drawings and Australian Standards
Accurately interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and diagrams
Perform structural and general metal fabrication for electrical and mechanical infrastructure
Weld using MIG, TIG, and stick processes
Measure, cut, grind, and shape metal components
Conduct quality inspections to verify alignment, dimensions, and weld integrity
Strictly adhere to all site safety procedures, risk assessments (JHAs), and permit-to-work systems
Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams for safe, timely project delivery
What You'll Need
Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking/Welding)
2–3 years' experience in mining or heavy industrial environments
Proven experience with cable ladder systems and interpreting technical drawings
Current Working at Heights, Confined Space, and Construction Induction Card (White Card)
Highly Regarded
High-risk work licenses (EWP, Dogging, Rigging)
Manual driver's license
Prior BHP induction
