In this role, you will be responsible for fitting, assembling, and welding metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate production machines and other equipment.
This is a full-time ongoing position, based in Osborne Park, WA.Main tasks:-Interpretation of Technical Drawings: Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine suitable materials, methods, and sequences of operations.
-Fabrication and Assembly: Fit fabricated metal parts into products and assemble metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment.
-Welding Operations: Perform welding tasks using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, and Stick welding to join metal components.
-Quality Assurance: Check fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance, and fit using precision measuring instruments.
-Machine Setup and Operation: Set up and operate machining tools, including cutting, shaping, and grinding equipment.
-Maintenance and Repair: Diagnose faults and perform operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment.
-On-Site Erection: May be required to erect machines and equipment on-site, ensuring proper installation and functionality.Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:-AQF Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent-At least 1 year' relevant industry experience as a Fitter-Welder, with a strong understanding of welding techniques and metal fabrication processes- Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:-Licenses and Certifications: Valid White Card (Construction Induction Safety Certificate); high-risk work licenses such as Forklift, Dogging, or Rigging are advantageous.
-Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings; experience with precision measuring instruments; ability to operate various welding and machining equipment-Attention to Detail: Ability to produce high-quality work with precision and accuracy.
-Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions.
-Team Collaboration: Works well within a team environment, collaborating with other trades and departments.
-Safety-Conscious: Adheres to all safety protocols and promotes a safe working environment.
