Great opportunities for Consultant Psychiatrists in a variety of specialties in Sydney, NSW.New South Wales's fastest growing regionNew multi-million dollar Integrated Mental Health ComplexSalary package up to AUD$400,000 (dependent upon experience)Lovely climate with warm summers and mild wintersThe OpportunityYou will be part of a supportive and cohesive team, providing excellent clinical care to patients as well as contributing to the development of Psychiatric Services and mentoring of junior medical officers and registrars.Currently seeking Consultant Psychiatrists in the following subspecialties:Child & Adolescent PsychiatryPerinatal PsychiatryOld Age Psychiatry (In-Patient and Community)Consultation Liaison PsychiatryPsychiatrist Emergency Care Centre (PECC)/Emergency DepartmentAdult Psychiatry (In-Patient and Community)Director – Adult Psychiatry (role is both clinical and managerial).
RequirementsApplicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABPN certified) or New Zealand.The Medical Board of Australia implemented a new expedited pathway to specialist registration in December 2024, eliminating the need for a specialist assessment with a specialist medical college for those with an accepted qualification in Psychiatry.
The only accepted qualifications are MRCPsych and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) after 2007.
