About the Role...The successful individual will provide general gardening and grounds maintenance duties, including floral displays, landscape maintenance, turf care, animal exhibit plant maintenance, collection of browse for Taronga's animal population from off-site locations, and record keeping.Key Accountabilities...Perform basic horticulture and gardening tasks under the guidance of horticulturalists, within grounds, exhibits, and off-site locations.Undertake general duties such as weeding, pruning, mulching, watering, hedge trimming, and lawn maintenance to maintain allocated grounds and exhibits.Assist in the efficient harvest of browse for animal nutrition and maintain browse plantations under supervision.Support record keeping activities, including research, identification, cataloguing, data collection, and labelling of plant species across zoo grounds, exhibits, browse plantations, and harbour foreshore.Work effectively as part of a high-performing team to help Taronga achieve strategic goals.About You...We are looking for candidates with:Previous experience in gardening, grounds maintenance, or browse collection.A current NSW Driver's License.Ability to obtain and maintain a paid NSW Working with Children Check (expenses covered by Taronga).
