Director Social Work, Allied Health

The position is responsible for a Portfolio within Medical Services (MS), providing leadership and advocacy for allied health services within MS and collaborating / liaising with other Discipline Directors and relevant advanced/senior allied health practitioners across the SCHHS on relevant matters, supporting safe and efficient delivery of patient centred care in line with SCHHS, state and national priorities.

**Key Responsibilities include**:
- Be responsible for all aspects of operational and resource management including cost centres and be accountable for the administration, direction and control of the relevant asset and financial management of Social Work within the AH-SDM.
- Provide expert clinical leadership and strategic knowledge in Social Work in order to develop solutions to complex service delivery problems, ensuring a cohesive and collaborative approach to planning, development and provision of health services.
- Provide high level Social Work clinical services and professional leadership within the professional area of expertise within SCHHS. This position may be required to manage a designated clinical caseload and will be required to maintain recency of practice.
- Accountable for the monitoring of professional standards in Social Work in accordance with SCHHS and State-Wide standards (ensuring their practice meets the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Code of Ethics and Professional Practice Standards) and provides leadership in the development, implementation and monitoring of Social Work programs and policies (including education and/or research) within the SCHHS.
