About the roleThe Registrar / Principal House Officer (PHO) provides medical services under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist that are evidence-based, efficient, effective, and equitable to consumers within a public health setting.
Registrars / PHOs are expected to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfy the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and Australian Medical Board requirements to practice as a specialist.Forensic and Secure Services offers specialist secure rehabilitation and forensic mental health services, including:High Security Inpatient Service (70 beds)Extended Forensic Treatment Rehabilitation Unit (20 beds)Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit (34 beds)Prison Mental Health Services (covering 9 Correctional Centres)General Health ServiceSpecialist Mental Health Intellectual Disability Service (SMHIDS)Central Staffing OfficeThese services provide assessment and treatment for individuals with mental disorders who have a history of criminal offending or are at risk of offending.Please refer to the role description for specific requirements of the role.Mandatory Requirements:Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine-preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the relevant guidelines.About West Moreton HealthWest Moreton Health is rapidly evolving, serving a community expected to nearly double to over 588,000 by 2036.
