As an Aboriginal Mental Health Support Worker, you will help support our clients in achieving their goals and thrive within their care plans. We're looking for someone who is committed to promoting independence, mental health, and well-being within a collaborative community.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide emotional and practical support to Aboriginal clients with mental health needs.
- Assist clients in navigating mental health services and resources.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment for individuals to discuss their mental health and wellbeing.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care for clients.
- Deliver culturally sensitive support in accordance with community values and practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of personalized care plans.
- Educate and empower clients and their families on mental health management. Maintain accurate records, including daily logs and incident reports, in line with NDIS requirements.
- Work collaboratively with other support workers and allied health professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the client.

**Qualifications**:

- Has Certificate IV in Mental Health or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong knowledge of mental health issues, especially within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build rapport with diverse clients.
- Demonstrated understanding of cultural competence and Aboriginal community engagement.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing client needs.
- Full Australian driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
