**About the Company**:
Poyntons Boulevard Cafe is a high-volume cafe (120 seat dining room) within the grounds of Poyntons Nursery, overlooking the picturesque Maribyrnong River in Essendon. Perfect for a catch up with friends, a family day out or simply no reason at all. We're open for all day breakfast, brunch & lunch, with a seasonally inspired menu. As our Kitchen Hand, you'll be responsible for supporting the smooth operation of our kitchen by assisting chefs, cooks, and dishwashers with various tasks.

- 3-5 years of demonstrated experience as a Kitchen Hand in a busy culinary establishment.
- **Our non-negotiables - Your Availability**:_
- You must be available to work weekends for this role - Saturdays and Sundays are our peak times
- You must be able to start work as early as 7am, with finish times typically between 3pm-4pm.
- Ideally, you have no substantial periods of leave (>1 week) booked for the first 3 months of your tenure.
- **Our non-negotiables - Your Capabilities**:_
- **Food Preparation**: Assisting in basic food prep like chopping produce, washing produce, portioning ingredients, or preparing Larder dishes (i.e. cold appetizers, salads, sandwiches etc) under the supervision of the chef.
- **Dishwashing and Cleaning**: If required, supporting the Dish Pit with washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans, as well as maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen. You'll always be helping to maintain a clean kitchen, though.
- **Stocking and Organising**: Unpacking and organising deliveries of food and kitchen supplies, and ensuring that ingredients are properly stored, labelled, and rotated to maintain freshness.
- **Waste Management**: Disposing of kitchen waste, recycling, and ensuring that trash is handled efficiently to maintain cleanliness and food safety standards.
- **Maintaining Hygiene Standards**: Ensuring all health and safety protocols are followed, including food handling and storage and cleaning procedures.
