Our 2000 strong team members across Australia, consistently strive to exceed our client's expectations and make a difference in the communities we serve.About the roleWe are experiencing steady growth and an exciting pipeline of projects, and as a result, we are looking for a skilled Senior Commissioning Engineer to join our team at our Dandenong South depot.This hands-on role demands broad technical expertise and substantial experience working on substation projects that are integral to Australia's transition to a Net Zero future.You will be part of our Zinfra Contracting VIC Testing & Commissioning Enterprise Agreement 2025, with a competitive salary and a tool-of-trade vehicle provided.
The role typically involves medium to long-term projects across Victoria, with a 9-day fortnight schedule, and overtime paid at penalty rates.Key Responsibilities includePlan & lead the testing and commissioning activities for both brownfield and greenfield 22kV-500kV Substation projectsPlan and execute outage activities with a focus on safetyTrack, report, and ensure progress aligns with the project commissioning scheduleConduct Protection & Control relay testingPerform IEC61850 system testingPrimary Plant testing & commissioningDrawing, ITP and defect/RFI managementSupervise and mentor junior team membersAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in a similar role, having worked on complex brownfield and greenfield substation projects and hold an Advanced Diploma of ESI Power Systems or an Electrical Engineering DegreeExperience within the Australian transmission/distribution networksA strong background in Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) testing and commissioningRelevant training and authorisations in line with VESI standards (desirable)Proficient in the operation of Doble and/or Omicron secondary injection test equipment and other primary plant test equipmentExperience with IEC61850 projects is desirable but not essentialOur people are our energy source, and we offer meaningful benefits and rewards that work for you.
